Fuzzy Wuzzy bath soap: I grow ‘fur’ (1960s)

Fuzzy-Wuzzy-before-and-after

Ok, here’s a pretty wacky product from the mid-1960s: Fuzzy Wuzzy bath soap. It’s a soap for kids that, once removed from its plastic package, starts growing “fur.” That’s a whole lot of weird, if you ask me.

The “fur” is reportedly a mold spore, so I hope no one got their mouth washed out with THIS soap!

And as if fur-growing soap wasn’t enough of a novelty for kids, inside of it was a “toy surprise.” Yes, inside the furry soap was a little toy.

Watch the ad for it! Watch it!

Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear,
Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair,
But watch this,
Take him from his cage
Set him on a circus platform
and within three days…
Fuzzy Wuzzy will grown his own fur!
