Silicon Valley Gem: Buck’s of Woodside

Folks, I’ve got something extra cool to share with you.

My friend Kyle Kesterson is visiting and, on his glowing recommendation, we dined at a real Silicon Valley gem: Buck’s of Woodside

Pocketed away in the small town of Woodside, (which, by the way, is one of the wealthiest in the United States), this modest restaurant is down-right legendary. If not for its owner’s wild floor-to-ceiling collection of crazy-cool curiosities, but for the wheeling and dealing that goes down there. See, Buck’s is just 4 miles from Sand Hill Road, where many venture capitalists have offices.

Legend has it that Elon Musk pitched PayPal there, and that Tesla raised capital in its parking lot. Open since 1991, Buck’s has been home to many tech-related deals

Still, Buck’s proprietor Jamis MacNiven insists it’s “just a local joint.”

I was thinking it should have a more apropos moniker, like, Big Buck’s of Woodside. 🙂

The Nitty Gritty: Buck’s is located at 3062 Woodside Road in Woodside, California. This is the kind of place you have to see to believe, but if you can’t make the trip, you can browse the Buck’s collection onlineGo for the pancakes, stay for the seed funding.
