A deep-fried fluffernutter from deep in the heart of Texas

Arielle Henson of Fried and True, a super cute, vintage food trailer in Austin, Texas

I had the good fortune to spend the weekend in Austin, Texas and, to my delight, a dear friend of mine had pre-arranged for one of the coolest food trailers in town to make me a special off menu item, a deep-fried fluffernutter.

This special sandwich was created by Arielle Henson, founder of the Fried and True trailer (also known as “F.A.T.” –get it?). Here’s what her trailer looks like:

This is the menu:

Your eyes do not deceive you, they have a Deep Fried Sriracha Grilled Cheese on their Specials board:

Wait, here’s a closer look at that in all its cheesy goodness:

But, as you know, that’s not why we are here. We came here for this, a hot, melty marshmallow and peanut butter sandwich fresh out of the fryer:

Mmmm…Arielle cut it up and sprinkled some powdered sugar on top:

Ta-da! Here I am with the delicious finished product! Thanks Arielle, and special thanks to Epiphany for hooking it all up!

Fried and True is located at the East Side Fillin’ Station, a place where food trucks park at E. 6th and Waller in Austin, Texas.
